Engineering Zero Energy Building Systems.
DE designs intelligent MEPFT systems so buildings can run efficiently and effectively. We are proactive, collaborative, and tenacious problem solvers, energized by complex engineering challenges.
The new BSL3 HVAC system design and construction is significantly robust and independent of conditions imposed upon it by the surrounding HLI building systems under all HLI programmed modes of operation.
Design Engineers understands any design effort is collaboration of a broader team- the owner and it’s participants like facilities management, faculty, staff, students; plus the architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical design team; plus the contractor. We’re all in it together for a successful project.
You have given me renewed hope that a full project TEAM does exist. I have to share a big THANK YOU to each of you at DE for the effort you put into the projects. It is such a breath of fresh air that I cannot state it strongly enough. It is truly a pleasure working with your firm. Thank you.
My internship with DE gave me the opportunity to really get a full understanding of the day to day tasks, as well as getting to know the people I would be working with and what my role would be. My favorite part about working at DE is that I am able to do something I enjoy in a positive environment with great people around me.
Wanted to extend another sincere thank you to the design team on this. We were able to go from design/feasibility to substantial-completion in exactly one month thanks to your efforts. Now the lab will be able to greatly increase their Covid and Influenza testing capacity. Feel good about this!
Design Engineers is one of the best consultants in the country. They've shown their commitment to renewable energy and they know what it takes.
The Visual Arts Building actually works, and that's SO important! This beacon of light has put Iowa on the map as a destination to see the finest Studio Arts building made in the last 50 years. The building's success has won us an award as the top-ranked 3D design program in the country.
I just wanted to pass along how nice it is to be working with an engineer like yourself that truly understands complete system operations and what is required from a control standpoint. Your understanding and diligence is refreshing and certainly helps us as the control contractor to have another set of educated eyes looking at things now, before they are implemented.
This project has been very successful with all parties involved. We hope that all of you continue working with UNI in the future.
Thanks for the last minute rush on this. You are all a great team to be working with. Thanks for all of the hard work!!!!!
Professionally, my favorite part of work at DE is the fact that we tackle complicated and exciting projects. Personally, I love the company culture of a healthy work-life balance, encouragement among coworkers, and personal growth. It always feels good to come to work knowing you’re a valued part of the team.
I don’t think there is a day that goes by that I don’t learn something new or have discussions with other engineers in the office that gives me a different perspective and I think that’s really cool. There aren't many jobs out there encourage continuously learning and evolving as an engineer, but DE really pushes it’s engineers to do so.
Design Engineers was proactive in delivering a project within budget while still delivering high value mechanical and electrical systems. The cooperation and collaboration that they brought to the table everyday was greatly appreciated.
The School of Music building model is one of the most fully developed design models I’ve ever encountered.
Design Engineers is very attentive to long-term, low maintenance and energy consumption.
Design Engineers has done an exceptional job with us and have always provided staff to identify issues, assist in planning and ensure follow through.
My observation is that, like me, the architects believe Amy and Design Engineers to be in a league of their own. They work well with both architects and users and inspire confidence across the design team with knowledge, thoroughness and consultation.
We have been blessed with terrific architects – Holl Architects – and have a beautiful building that inspires art production. And, when we walk in on day one, fall 2016, our curricular program will thrive, because of Design Engineers’ successful engineering of the building.
DE’s creative approach to problem solving has resulted in integrated, energy efficient solutions that are responsive to budget limitations and long-term maintenance needs.
The thing I have appreciated the most about Design Engineers is their ability to integrate complex MEP systems into the larger architectural and programmatic goals of the building in a way that reinforces the underlying design concepts.
