Founded in 1983, Design Engineers has grown steadily and carefully, always striving to be a professional, healthy and collaborative environment.

Our work is highly interdependent, often with design partners across the Midwest and the country. We have embraced approaches to work that empower communication and work flexibility.

Our Cedar Rapids headquarters is perched on a hilltop—abundant light and multiple, open-conferencing spaces with full AV-networking reinforce our transparent and collaborative mission.

In 2018, we expanded our presence to the Madison, Wisconsin area to increase our knowledge base and grow our opportunities for challenging, dynamic design. Seven years later, we opened our third office in Des Moines, Iowa, to foster talent and strengthen our long-standing relationships with clients across Central Iowa. As we consider the path ahead, we look forward to the continued evolution of the DE charter to serve our clients efficiently, passionately, and sustainably.
