DE Involved In Pink Thinks for NICC

HVAC BIM Technician Karasel Harris participated in Pink Thinks at Northeast Iowa Community College

Pink Thinks is an event that introduces girls to non-traditional STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) careers that are in demand locally and are projected to steadily grow. This event had women leaders in the STEM industries use hands-on activities to teach 7th and 8th grade girls what their jobs really are and what these girls can do and expect from the future.

Karasel worked with the girls in the MET session. The other sessions were CNC, Welding, Electronic Technology, and Automotive Technology.

The girls learned a lot about what other careers are out there and that they all have what it takes to work in any of these industries.
