ISU Dining Renovation and Convenience Store
Maple Willow Larch Residence Hall Dining Renovation & Convenience Store – Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa
Project History
This project consists of the complete renovation of the dining facilities at Maple Willow Larch Residence Hall into a food court style facility at Iowa State University, as well as the renovation of the existing convenience store. The project included the replacement of the majority of the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems serving this facility.
Mechanical Design
The scope of mechanical work included the installation of a variable volume air handling unit and associated VAV ductwork distribution systems, low flow kitchen hoods and associated duct systems and exhaust fans, a direct digital control system for control of all HVAC equipment, a fire protection system and plumbing systems in support of the food service equipment. This project also included the replacement of existing utility piping within the facility.
Electrical Design
The electrical scope of work included the installation of all new lighting and power systems, including lighting control systems, electrical connections in support of both the mechanical equipment and the food service equipment, and a new addressable fire alarm system. Communications, access control and CCTV systems for the project were also provided in accordance with University standards and all applicable codes.
