Emergency Care Unit / Maternal Child Renovation, Mercy Hospital, Iowa City
This project included an addition to and complete renovation of the Emergency Care Unit and Maternal Child Department at Mercy Hospital. The phased nature of the construction process required the installation of both temporary bypass ducts for both the existing air handling units and the new and temporary piping as required to maintain the existing reverse return piping system in operation until it was completely removed from service.
The electrical scope of work included all new lighting, power and nurse call systems.
Fire safety components of the project include modifications to the existing sprinkler system and addressable fire alarm system serving the renovated space.
