CRPL Receives LEED Platinum Certification

CRPL achieved a total of 82 LEED credits making it one of 15 buildings currently certified as Platinum! To work towards the goal of LEED Platinum, some of the energy saving strategies included a central geothermal system with a pump and reinjection ground water source, energy recovery ventilation, demand controlled ventilation, low LPD lighting design, daylighting controls and occupancy sensor control of lights. These resulted in a 51.4% total energy use saving and 50% energy cost savings. Environmental strategies used were refrigerants selected for zero ozone depletion and low global warming potential, water efficient plumbing fixtures, construction waste management, rainwater and cooling coil condensate collection for irrigation, and a vegetated roof.
